As a Manager on the Web Operations team you will be responsible for building and supporting the application infrastructure of one of the largest eCommerce sites in the world. This will require you to maintain high site uptime while embracing rapid change and growth using a strong DevOps mindset of continuous delivery and site automation. This is a demanding role that requires deep technical knowledge, adaptability, hands on execution, and a ruthless drive towards higher levels of availability.

In this role:

  • You will lead and manage a team of high performing Web Operations engineers
  • Have a maniacal focus on site uptime
  • Attract, recruit, grow, and retain highly energized engineers
  • Manage multi-million dollar capex and opex budgets
  • Build the tools and automation to drive continuous integration and deployment of rapidly changing web applications
  • Build and manage the web application infrastructure for large scale, highly available web applications
  • Embed with and empower development teams using a strong devops mindset

Qualifications

  • Proven, results-oriented leader with 7+ years prior IT management experience delivering significant infrastructure and automation for large-scale internet retailers
  • Expertise in DevOps processes and technologies, eCommerce systems, retail industry best practices, operational concerns, technology trends, and innovations
  • Excellent communications, organization, and time management skills
  • Experience in attracting, engaging, and developing world-class technical and leadership talent
  • Able to create and drive strategic goals through accountability and execution excellence
  • Demonstrated experience in executing/delivering projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Experience with several web application platforms: WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, NginX, Varnish, Endeca, Akamai, Citrix Netscalers, etc
  • Experience with public or private cloud web hosting
  • Experience with infrastructure configuration management tools such as Puppet and Chef
  • Experience with Application Performance Monitoring tools: Dynatrace, Splunk, Gomez, Coradiant, and Tealeaf
  • Experience with continuous integration platforms such as Jenkins/Hudson and Maven
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
