Big Data Software Engineer - Java, Ruby, C, C++, GPU, node.js, Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Pig, Weka, Python, R, Matlab - RTB, Retargeting - Fort Worth, TX

Our client is a venture capital funded startup online advertising technology solution provider with seasoned, serial entrepreneurs as leaders who have multiple notable prior exits.  The company helps advertisers and marketers more effectively connect with customers and potential customers via their real-time bidding and retargeting technology platform.  There are many elements of both Search and Display within their offering.  We are looking for talented full stack software engineers who have experience working with big data solutions to come join our team.

Responsibilities

• Improve the capability, efficiency and scalability of our core platform
• Work on your own, and with members of the engineering team to develop and launch new functionality
• Code primarily in Ruby, Java, C/C++ with both SQL and noSQL data systems
• Conduct R&D on new technologies and programming approaches
• Must have the desire and self-motivation to learn new things
• Proactively look for ways to make our systems and solutions better

• Scripting language: Python, Ruby or Bash
• Database experience: MySQL, PostgreSQL
• MapReduce-based parallel processing: Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Pig
• High-performance/high-throughput systems: node.js, Scala, Java, C/C++
• Experience with Maching Learning algorithms for structuring data (Weka, NLP etc.)
• Some exposure to statistical packages such as R, Matlab, SAS are a plus
• Strong focus and attention to detail, and to the production of quality code
• Strong debugging skills
• Ability to work well on your own or within teams, and across company functions
